Experienced Defending Against All Theft Charges

After being arrested for theft, the police will try to make promises and try to cut deals with you before you get a chance to speak to an attorney. Do not take the bait.

Police do not have your best interests in mind. They have one goal: gathering enough evidence to convict you. You have a right to a lawyer — exercise that right. Get in touch with an attorney as soon as possible.

After being charged with a theft crime, you have rights and options. At The Law Office of Andrew T. Christie, LLC, I will explain them to you and advise you on the best approach.

Located in Kansas City, our firm defends clients in the surrounding communities against theft crimes.

A Strong Defense Against Misdemeanor And Felony Theft Offenses

In Missouri, theft crimes can be charged as misdemeanors or felonies, depending on the value and type of property stolen:

  • Misdemeanor theft charges — The theft of property valued at less than $500 is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail and up to $1,000 in fines.
  • Felony theft charges — If property is valued at more than $500, or the property is of a specific type, including a gun, car, credit card or controlled substance, a felony charge will result. Felony thefts are punishable by anywhere from four to 10 years in prison, and fines up to $20,000.

At The Law Office of Andrew T. Christie, LLC, we are on your side. We will do everything in our power to protect your rights and get the best possible resolution to your theft charges. Our firm defends clients against a wide range of theft-related offenses, including:
